2011 Dairy and Food Processing Outlook

Edmonton, Alberta
March 30, 2011

The Canadian dairy and food processing sectors faced many challenges in 2010. Food ingredient price volatility, a weak US economy, increased competition from offshore suppliers and an ever changing Canadian demographic to name but a few. The need for dairy and food processor to understand the impact of these issues on their business is an essential component to remaining competitive in the marketplace.

The Canadian Dairy Commission along with a panel of experts in the field of Canadian and U.S. economics, consumer behaviour and dairy and food processing provided conference participants with an up to date outlook on the year ahead. Participants in this conference had a unique opportunity to learn and exchange ideas with market experts and fellow industry colleagues.
